Home Assistant Dashboard

The more the degree of "smart home" maturity we have in the household the more also the need changes. In the beginning it was fun to be able to turn on and off every single light from my cellphone but now I (we, but mostly I) want want the house to do it by it's self.

I control the lights, the volume on my speakers and TV, my door bel and more with different sensors but also with Home Assistant UI through my phone, tablet and desktop.

I want to, in some degree, control what scenario we are going to run, and then let the system take some actions rather then telling every single light what brightness it’s going to be.

A concrete example could be when you are cooking. What is most important, that the lighting has a good brightness or that you can set exactly what brightness it should be in your cellphone? Of course, there may be times when you want to set the brightness to 48%, but most likely it is not so. Most likely you want to say to google, amazon, siri or whatever “I cook”, and then the lighting is regulated accordingly, I guess this is also smart home in the true sense, right?

The dashboards we (my family) have today (in mobiles, on tablets, etc.) are based on the desire to be able to control all lights rather the the scenery, therefore this must be rebuilt (yippie)!

In an upcoming series, I will try to build myself a new graphical interface and you will be part of the journey, what traps have you fallen into or what have you done well? Feel free to comment below or on another suitable forum. I’m thankful for anything that provides inspiration.
